Lighting is as much a philosophy as it is an art. it sets moods or breaks them and it can be the centerpiece of a room or an invisible angle in the corner. some designers believe that the best lighting is invisible: something that is felt, not seen. others, they’ll make the lighting the focus of every room. one certainty for both of those approaches is that lighting is the foundation of any well- designed space, and if you have bad lighting, it’s the first thing you notice when you enter a room and it’s generally downhill from there when it comes to design, because without strong foundations, well, everything is harder to bring together.
